Yondaime Kazekage, the Fourth Wind Shadow, is the father of Gaara, Temari and Kankuro. He is also the one who had the one-tailed demon tanuki, Shukaku, sealed within Gaara so that he could become the village's ultimate weapon.
However, as time passed, the Fourth felt as if he made a mistake and labeled Gaara as a failed experiment who was a threat to the village. Soon he began issuing orders for Gaara's assassination, however, none of them were successful. several years later, he was killed by Orochimaru who took on his identity to invade the Hidden Leaf Village during the Chuunin Exams.
