After hearing of Tazuna's plan to build a bridge to connect the Country of the Waves, Gato hired Missing Nins from the Hidden Village of Mist, Zabuza, Haku, and Mist Demon brothers to kill Tabuza and stop the building of the bridge. After Zabuza's arms were of now longer use, Gato got rid of Zabuza. Gato was later on killed by Zabuza.
