Hiashi is the older twin brother of Hizashi and because he was born before Hizashi, Hiashi was made part of the head family of the Hyuga Clan. As part of the Hyuga Clan he is able to use the Byakugan. Hiashi is the father of Hinata and Hanabi. When Hinata was kidnapped by a shinobi from the ally country of the Hidden Village of Cloud, Hiashi killed the ninja causing a violation in the treaty. As demanded by the Hidden Village of Cloud, Hiashi's body need to be delivered to them, but Hiashi brother Hizashi volunteered. Hiashi eventually reveals to his nephew Neji about his father's death after Neji lost in the third stage of the Chuunin exam. He eventually trained both Neji and Hinata to keep the Hyuga Clan from falling apart.
